Cambodia has three sites inscribed on the World Heritage list. The Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world and the largest tourist attraction site of Cambodia, was added to the World Heritage list by Unesco in 1992.
In 2008, the 11th-century temple of Preah Vihear was finally added to the list. Preah Vihear is situated atop a cliff on the Dangrek Mountains in Preah Vihear province, border of Cambodia and Thailand.
The temple zone of Sambor Prei Kuk was listed as a World Heritage Site in 2017. The cluster of ancient brick temples is located in Kampong Thom province.
