EducationUSA Cambodia, sponsored by the US Embassy Phnom Penh hosted two fairs aiming to attract more Cambodian students to study in the United States. The fairs took place this week in Siem Reap at Somadevi Angkor Resort & Spa and in Phnom Penh at Cambodiana Hotel.
Speaking in Phnom Penh, the US embassy charge d’affaires Michael Newbill said, that the fairs delivered not only a chance for students to get information from US universities but also an exchange opportunity for Cambodian students as well.
“Just from Asia alone, over 500,000 international students are now studying in the United States, and we would like to attract more students from Cambodia. The number has been growing every single year with close to 600 students from Cambodia currently studying in the US,” Newbill said.
