Tharoth “Little Frog” Sam is Cambodia’s first professional female MMA fighter and Cambodia’s darling superstar. Aside from being an accomplished fighter, Tharoth is a talented actress with roles in the original made for Netflix film, First They Killed My Father and the high-intensity action film, Jailbreak, which was acquired by Netflix, Tharoth has been promoting the documentary film, Surviving Bokator. The film documents the struggles of Cambodia’s ancient martial art, Bokator and the journey from being almost lost during the Khmer Rouge era to now experiencing a resurgence amongst the country’s youth who are reclaiming their cultural identity.
