Cambodia Town Inc. is preparing for the second virtual Cambodia Town Parade and Culture Festival on April 24.
This year’s theme is diversity, according to Richer San, who is on the board of directors at CTI.
According to San, a lot of the productions put on this year will focus on minority groups in Cambodia. One such group is the Cham people, who are an ethnolinguistic group in Cambodia and Vietnam, many of them practicing Islam.
“The Cham people are an important group in Cambodian culture, but you don’t hear from them often,” San said. “We are able to show how beautiful their culture is, and how beautiful all of Cambodia’s culture is.”
