Cambodia receives $2 million from US to fight COVID-19

The United States State Department on Tuesday issued a statement noting the US gave $2 million last month for the Kingdom’s fight against COVID-19.

The statement, shared by the US embassy in Phnom Penh, said the money will help the government prepare laboratory systems, activate case-finding and event-based surveillance and support technical experts for response and preparedness.

“The Centres for Disease Control is assisting Cambodia with contact tracing, clinical management, lab testing, surveillance and infection control,” it said. “A US National Institute of Health infectious disease physician, is assisting with clinical consultations and developing clinical care guidelines for the Royal Phnom Penh Hospital.”
