Recently, I bought a Roku from Walmart. I thought it would be entertaining to check out the content on it. In addition to Roku free content, my Internet provider also has an app on the Roku to stream TV content for a monthly fee. I thought it would be great to get back into TV; however, I’m still bored asf.

I find that a lot of movies/shows are over-produced. The Tubi app has many free movies, but none that really are interesting enough to maintain my attention. Even on my TV app, movies on HBO are bland and boring asf. Where did all the good content go?

    What are you streaming nowadays?

I bought a roku once but returned it. I’m sure it’s changed, but when I got it, it was just a remote. I find that it’s mindless channel surfing. I prefer to use my tablet and cast to my chromecast. It’s more interactive because I’m sending a queue of videos to my tv, but at the same time, i’m surfing the tablet and learning. I recently binge on “The OA” on netflix and plan to do so with Cobra Kai 2 on google tv.

in general, I don’t watch too many tv shows or movies on tv because it’s mostly too mindless. I hear that  successful people don’t watch too much tv. I don’t consider myself successful but walking that path….and the more I walk that path, the more tv becomes boring. I’m seeing more of the benefits / no benefits, and opportunity costs point of view. Every show a person watches…could be an opportunity to learn a new skill.

I’m currently watching this. it’s amazing..one of the first things he talked about is how poor people think they need to work more hours to make more money…..rather than make more per hour. Growing up, I saw this a lot with Khmer people, particularly Khmer women. They always brag about overtime because they get paid more when it’s overtime…but to me, I always thought that it sucks that they had to work more to get paid more.

LOL of course you have to work more to make more. All these new age thinking that you can work a 4-hour week while making full-time earnings is bogus. A lot of them talk about investing and shit like that. However, you need a source of income to have money for investing same as you need capital to start a business.

I know people who own businesses and still work part-time or full-time because its stable hours. Business ownership is unpredictable and a lot of times, you’re competing against more established, well-funded companies.

u 2 both have really awesome contrasting points.

what i luv most about kL is how ppl don’t tend to agree wit each other, and that keeps it real.

speaking of, wish it was like that IRL.. like in the community i see ppl be agreeing to each other face but then stab each other in the back out of envy!

instead of helping each other succeed, its like competition for the smartest answer, or most profitable scheme that gets em the coolest (financed) car on the block til SHTF!

whatever happened to David/AquilaKLAWfoot, maybe @lala knows? he used to be into the wholesome documentaries like Ancient Aliens, etc..

The thing about Khmer people is that they exaggerate and lie about success. I don’t have to talk about money to most Khmer people because they all make more money than me…you get it? lol. When I talk to Khmer people, it makes me wonder how a group of people who mostly live in the ghetto, drive the nicest cars, have the least education, and rarely work in any of the higher income careers/companies….yet are able to become so financially better off than most Americans. Or are they just full of sh*t?

And the crazy thing is that I think Khmer people really believe they’re rich. The thing with blacks and latinos is that they know they are poor..especially latinos. Khmer people don’t seem to know. When I was growing up, I fell for that BS too and thought Khmer people were superior to everybody else.

No, I think you missed the point. The poorer person thinks that if I want to make more money, I work more hours. The richer person think that he has to increase his value and make more per hour.

Though doing business is the best path for wealth, I don’t preach it because there are so many variables in business and the chances of failure is almost guaranteed. The only thing I can teach for most people is to increase your value.

^with khmers (along with hmong) being the most poverty-stricken in america, the excuse is ‘but we work off books to collect welfare so we’re really not as poor as we seem, thats why we can still afford fancy clothes and cars’.

sadly can’t help but notice just like u said, gals tend to work overtime at their min wage job, whilst guys in contrast won’t hold an hourly wage job for more than a few mos to year each, cuz they miss all the free lazy time to kick it drugged out with homeys/hoes, and the big lump sums they used to get when in gangs peddling powdered down dope to kids and the nightly robberies.

so eventually revert to least one of the 2. course it doesn’t seem to get noticed or talked about until they get locked up again and family act all shocked like they thought that was the past, and even then its not addressed, but instead pushed onto the next generation to be just like their deadbeat daddy. still don’t see why they watch lakorn like the chicks, but oh well! o_0

anyways on a similar note, i dont like netflixxx nor cable so just rely on antennae. recently nwo deleted most of the aired channels to force people to watch either mainstream news (fox, cbs, etc) or ION tv which is 100% crime gore. obviously they are conditioning the general public to accept fake news and be desensitized to doom & gloom child rape-murder psyops! 99% of the time when i turn on ion tv its some special victims unit with increasingly perverted storylines entangling kid trafficking, incest and serial killers all into one, in most each and every ‘case’! =/

It’s true that Khmer people aren’t as poor as we seem because so many do shady things. But hey, to me, that’s like Putin..he’s the richest person in the world..but it don’t count because it ain’t his money! You can’t count the money that you cheated off taxpayers….sorry! Couples don’t marry because the woman can pretend to be a single mother and get government assistance….father don’t have to pay for health insurance. Khmer people think they’re smart….but that thinking is the sh*thole that Cambodia is. That kind of thinking don’t work when it’s all Khmer people. When everybody is cheating each other, ain’t nobody got time or money to pay tax to help their fellow man who is poor.

But you know what I think? Why the government and society didn’t go after Khmer Americans? Because these dumb Cambodians will create jobs for people involved in prosecuting Khmer criminals and deporting them. Now we got 2000 Khmer families breaking up…which means a lot of these kids will end up problems of society that will put money into the social and justice system. In the end, Khmer people lose, Toyota, Honda, Mercedez, and the social/justice system wins.

The Lynda.com Channel just became my favourite channel on the Roku. A lot of great resources availble, if you’re willing to pay for it.
