I wanna start a challenge for fun to see if we can keep up with our budgets. Its called The Spending Limit Challenge.

Aside from bigger purchases like gas, phone bill, rent, grocery, etc., lets see how many of us can keep within our spending limit for minor transactions, like fast food, junk food, pop, soda, candy, chocolates.

You can set your limit as high as you want, but gotta keep below the limit. For my budget, I wanna spend no more than $10 daily or $300 monthly.

Today was payday and a co-worker showed me a lunch menu for a sushi restaurant. i told her I gave my God son $40 this morning for his weekend trip and I wanna spend less than $5/day. Walked away from having to spend any more money than I need to.

Let’s do it! So basically, sh*t we don’t need. Fast food, clothes, etc. I will set the limit to $300 a month.

Challenge already defeated.  Including electricity used to fund my transportation, I do a round trip of 6 cents per charge/day and lower if I choose a lower speed at higher range but that’s a different subject.  Speaking of food, cook your own but treat yourself.  For some reason I’ve found beef at $1.50 per pound, maybe my area or supply and demand as a whole. I’m not frugal by all means  but take a look at gasoline barrel prices vs what you pay at the pump.

Follow that up by cost of food vs food service. I’m not here to advocate how buying 2 cups of Starbucks can equate to buying a bag a of coffee but treat yourself.

Make your own homemade noodles. A pound of flour is a dime a dozen. I’m not talking about the great depression of what we had to scrape by to live but know what you’re paying for in the long run. We live in a society of profit and if you can dish out to pay someone else’s electric bill, to each their own.

That’s a lot for fast and junk food. I say I average around $50/month for that so it’s not that much of a challenge for me. I’m on the advanced level for this one. lols

^ok,, will try to limit myself to $10/day or $300/mo; but even just today alone i spent $424 between:

    grocery

    2 lowes hardware

    2 electric bills

plus, $21 on PIZZA yesterday =/

we coulda done without that pizza! so, no more pizza/junk food splurges during the challenge.

should we check in weekly, or at the 1-mo mark?

I probably failed already. It’s very tough. That’s why I try to make a lot of money. The more money you make, it’s not as bad when you lose money.

I think I failed too! LOL  I didn’t spend it on junk food, but I spent about $800 at the casino.  I didn’t win either.  I deviated from my winning strategy on roulette and it didn’t work.  Damn, I’m broke again and it was just payday.

No junk food yet. I guess I’m the winner. Yay!

wtf u gambled away $800 in a day, just after setting the $300mo spending limit?!

if the monthly spending limit aint working, maybe set a monthly saving minimum instead.

Khmer people spend more on gambling than they do on their kids education.
